For about the last week it takes me about 10 minutes or so to connect, sits at "Awaiting gamestate" at first, then if I play a match when it switches maps it sits at "Waiting for server to load map". I know I'm not the only one expericencing this. Any ideas?
I booted my windows PC (*shudder*) and same thing.

I'm not sure what's causing this, but there is something you can try to correct this problem:
Sometimes if you find yourself 'hanging' while awaiting gamestate you can always press escape. Bring down console (Click the ~ key) and type /reconnect or even connect directly to the Historians server by entering /connect 208.167.243.170:28960
From that point on, you should have no issues with connecting.

I used to have a problem in the past where the server would not show up in the game browser. I tried connecting directly either by ip or by joining through xfire but would get "Awaiting Connection". I was able to join any other server but could not join historians. After a while it turned out that i just needed to reset the modem/router and the issue was instantly corrected. This may not be a solution for either of your problems but eh worth a shot.

From a network perspective, you can also try to open a command line (i.e. Start-->Run-->cmd) then type the command ipconfig /flushdns and then try again.

The problem has resolved itself for me - been connecting fine the past few days.
Thanks, Duster
