Nvidia Distance Fog

Hi guys.After I bought a new video card(Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 EXO 2Gb) I saw that CODUO has a setting called Nvidia Distance Fog.I would be grateful if someone explain me what is this setting ...Also if this setting will affect the video.Thanks in advance.

@venom. My video card is also Nvidia Geforce GT 610. I also saw coduo's setting called Nvidia Distance Fog. I am still searching about it, but don't know what it is.
So if any one knows please help me too.

Call of Duty United Offensive adds a unique “NVIDIA Distance Fog” setting for GeForce owners only. As its name implies (when enabled), this setting adds a layer of light fog, obscuring objects in the distance (much like you’d see on a console game). This reduces the rendering workload on the graphics processor and thus enhances performance; the exact boost can vary depending on the complexity of the scene as well as screen resolution. The default setting is “enabled” but I'll sometimes disable this setting to improve overall performance. It DOES NOT give you an advantage as I've seen posted by amateurs in other forums such as being able to see distant players better. Pure nonsense.
