COD4 - waiting response from master server error

Hey all

As a Christmas gift for myself, I bought the original modern warfare.  I can play single player alright, but whenever I try to play multiplayer and hit refresh I get no servers coming up.  It's a disk version (for some reason Amazon shipped the UK version of the game even though I purchased it in the US) and its the latest patch. 

I've tried connecting to servers by imputing the IP adress from gametracker but I still can't connect that way (although I've tried this with one server).  I have Norton and even when the firewall is turned off, still nothing.  Any ideas?

I had the same problem, I found out, that after using " Cnet ' down loader, I was inflected by some crap of theirs and it messed with my internet settings, so, I talked to a few forum guys I know, and got a free program called " Hit-Man Pro ", and used it, and I was very surprised at all the nasty bugs it found and got rid of.
The next day, I was able to play online with yall ( COD UO )

I got something like that 1 time had to do this to remove it

How I got rid of it
Remove Win32.downloader.gen Trojan
I did this steps and it worked

STEP 1: Remove Win32.downloader.gen infection with Kaspersky TDSSKiller
STEP 2: Remove Win32.downloader.gen malicious files with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
STEP 3 : Remove the malicious registry keys added by the Win32.downloader.gen
STEP 4: Remove Win32.downloader.gen rootkit with HitmanPro
STEP 5: Double check for any left over infections with Emsisoft Emergency Kit
