Firmware is overwritten by vendors when a new update is available; therefore, unless someone on the company's payroll is adding the malicious code, it's impossible to write and plant externally. However, the code is subject to injection if someone transports the firmware via USB or wireless. You can reverse engineer how the code is changed and then rewrite this as part of the code extraction program. So, if you are on the wireless "kick", keep that in mind when you perform a firmware upgrade on your DVD, Blu-ray player or SMART device.

Lol. Whats even the point of all these viruses? People in their mom and dads basement that have nothing better to do with there lives. But on a real note most people make them to steal peoples information credit cards etc.
