Couldn't load Default_mp.cfg : HELP NEEDED

In those days I can't play CODUO because when I launch it a Fatal error occurs, it says:

Couldn't load Default_mp.cfg. Make sure Call of Duty is run from the correct folder.

I've Already had this error on XP and I succeeded to fix it, now i have Vista and I can't remember what to do...

Please help me, unless u want a noob less on the server! ;D

This error means the game can’t find its \Main directory. This problem can occur if you have installed the game in the root drive (for example C:\). If this occurs, reinstalling the game in a subdirectory of the root drive will solve the issue.

This can also occur if the game's registry entries have been modified either manually or due to using system restore. If that is the case then you will need to uninstall the game via "add/remove programs" in the control panel. After removing the game then reinstall it to recreate the registry entries.

Hmm. Just try uninstalling and reinstalling. That usually fixes the problem, just make sure you completely uninstall UO from your computer. I've had this problem before too and that is what fixed it for me. It's odd that your game would mess up like this all the sudden, did you go to a server and download some stuff or isntall anything on your computer that may have moved UO?

maybe you should try the following:

search the config_mp.cfg in you uo folder. Make a copy of it in the same folder and rename it to default_mp.cfg.

Then start COD.

That should usually work.

Hey, I think I downloaded a MOD before i realised (is it that Zzz_300.pk3 )...

Re-installing the game isn't solving the problem.
When I uninstall the game it doesn't do it completely: the mod and the downloaded maps remain, the problem is that I cannot see maps and mode searching in the folder but I realize of their presence when I look to the Game Console...

@ll I'll try as u suggest! Seeking in the internet for the solution it seems like this situation is related to a problem with the lenguage that has been modified by this MOD i downloaded...

I was a bit imprecise in my post. It should be "uoconfig_mp.cfg". Sorry for that mistake.

Hey There I solved the problem this way!

1)The problem was given by a mod i downloaded that was in conflict with the localized_italian_packuo02.pk03 (in particular with the default_mp.cfg which is contained in localized_italian_packuo02.pk03)

2)Uninstall UO didn't solve the problem because downloaded MOD, maps as well as single-player-checkpoints remain but they are hidden!!! (maybe only in Vista)

3)So I uninstalled both COD and CODUO (expansion and original game) and i deleted the "TAO 7" Folder in which I had installed the game and the expansion.

4)I created a new folder "LoveLess" and reinstalled COD and CODUO in this new folder

5) ATTENTION: If you had installed COD in the main directory (i.e .C:\Program Files (x86)\ ) you can have the same problem because this hidden conflictual MOD remains in the main directory, to solve it just create a new folder and install COD and CODUO in it (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\LoveLess\) <= this should be Fox's suggestion

Yeah, I've had bad experiences with mods that servers make you download. Once I ended up reloading XP (this was back in the day) just to fix things.
