I was forced out of the server with this error "Max_Gamestate_chars exceeded" just a few minutes ago. Anyone know what this means? I could not be much worse when it comes to stuff like this . Separately(I think?), I usually enter historians via gametrackers website, and for some reason, starting this afternoon, I was unable to login/join from there. I ended up just firing up UO and fortunately found historians there. Not sure if this matters at all, but the very last time I played before today(roughly a week prior) I got forced out of the game, but I think for another reason? I seem to recall it saying something about vehicle(s). Any thoughts on any of these issues are very welcome, I could not imagine being unable to play .

I've never seen that error warning before. And I have no idea why you were forced out of the game last week, did it say you were kicked?

max_gamestate_chars is a server side problem. Its booted me and half the players on the server before cause of that error. Billy will have to research that one i forgot what causes it.
The vehicles file was something fubar'ing with your game files. I get that once in awhile also. Id try reinstalling uo if ypu get frequent disconnects from file errors like that.

I believe dopestrong was running things at the moment, and I had JUST died to an exploding jeep. Immediately afterwards I was taken to the main screen with an error that I think said vehicle somewhere in it.

If you want to connect directly to /-/ just launch UO multiplater, at main screen hit the ~ key to open console and type: connect 208.167.243.170:28960.
You will connect directly to our BAS server this way.
Never used Gametracker so I cant speak to that, with the change of server ownership , perhaps some informatics changed behind the scenes for the server and Gametracker has not been updated. Just an educated guess.

Many thanks fellas, I have been fully capable of complaining about base order ignore-rs the last few days For whatever reason, gametracker is still not letting me access historians. I have just been popping in the #s nox showed me, and they get me in fine, and GT still keeps my scores.

Its something to do with the number of spectators. I got kicked out the other week with the Max_Gamestate_chars thing and couldn't rejoin. Someone has to go in and clear out all the spectators.

All of you are wrong.
The GameState contains like every information of the server which is sent to the client. For example: Maps, Players, Vehicles, Models, even single strings, etc
If the GameState reaches a certain limit, the client won't handle it and disconnect. So it's actually a client problem caused by the server.
If you have this problem, you have 3 options: - Reboot the server - Rotate the map - Find the cause
Finding the cause is simple most of the time. Try the following things (all SERVER sided, so this message is only for the serveradmin): - remove unused maps from uo folder - remove maps with many xmodels - remove unused serverinfo cvars (makeCvarServerInfo) - reduce amount of precached strings (you can remove unused ones) - reduce amount of precached xmodels (you can remove unused ones)
I had the same problem on my server and removing serverinfo cvars helped the most. Well, idk if you have many maps on the server, if yes, remove some (or even the unused ones).

Max_Gamestate_chars exceeded I got this error today as well. Servers can handle roughly max 130 bytes/player. With more players the load is handled by the server, but not the client. The problem is actually on client side because the server can actually handle more config strings with no crashes. That being said, this is "caused" by the server.
A few things can result in this error: 1. Having too many total or too many custom maps on the server 2. Too many mods, or scripts, running on the server (i.e. if you're running mods on the server, they create variables to control features of the mod. All these variables (cvar= command variable) add up to a point where the server can lock up or boot players). Typically this is seen when running mods and/or custom maps with mods where mapping textures or scripts compile quickly 3. This happens when the config strings size - the config string in total - reaches the limit of 16000 chars

I removed many unused maps last night. I'm not sure how to take care of the command variables issue. Thanks for the advice and opinions, all are appreciated.

Happened again this afternoon. More then half of the players were kicked and many couldn't rejoin.

Been awhile but, what I remember it has to do with pk3 files(maps/mods) client side player may have a corrupt map or mod in there uo folder
