Ping

Hi all
I'm in search of some advice from any of you tech savvy lads and lasses.
A couple of weeks ago whilst gaming, the PC or internet had a bit of a 'wobble'.
Apparently there was an outage from my ISP.
When things seemed to return to normal, my ping was all over the place and still is.
It normal runs at 98-100, (I'm in England) and that's with the kids online too, now it's averaging 150-200.
I use a powerline to connect to the internet but I switched to WIFI to see if there's a difference. There isn't!
I've rebooted my PC, router, Sky Q hub and reinstalled CODUO twice.
I've look at my config files and nothing seems to have changed, or maybe it has and I haven't noticed or what's more than likely, I don't know what I'm looking for!!
I went onto the game today when nobody was on and my ping was a constant 100.
I also went into my router settings and pinged the game's server, which came back as 88.
Is there anything in the config files that can settle my ping or do you reckon it's an ISP problem?
All help is appreciated.
Thanks
Seppy Steve!

Hiya Steve. I had this issue a while since, exactly the same. All of a sudden my ping went to ratshit.I got to the bottom of it eventually.
When you fire the game up and click on 'Join server', Theres the list of servers and at the top are a couple of settings, one of which is 'Connection'. Mine had somehow changed from Lan/Cable/xDSL to ISDN. I have no idea how that happened. When I changed it back all my ping problems went away.

Hello, have you tried re-setting modem, and if you are using a router ( unplug for 20 seconds and plug back in ) ??

Cheers Radio, I also did that too
Fen's right even though my connection was on LAN/Cable/xDSL. I clicked through the 'connections' back to LAN etc and it sorted itself out.
Thanks all

Keep in mind, there are config settings that can impact your ping as well. For example:
Optimized data transfer settings:
/rate 25000 - The rate you send data, measured in bytes per second
/snaps 30 - The amount of times the server updates itself, similar to "ticks"
/cl_packetdup 0 - Duplicates packets sent out to combat packet loss (0 = turned off)
/com_maxfps 125 - The max FPS allowed client-side, affects in-game physics
/cl_maxpackets 125 - The maximum CMD packets sent to the server a second
Adjusting these settings one at a time can, in some instances, significantly change both FPS (Frames Per Second) and your ping.
