I was watching CNN when this all had unfolded, at first they labeled the earthquake as a 7.7 then a 7.9 then 8.8 then 8.9 and finally put the 9.0 label on it. Watched videos of the Tsunami live which was very frightening. Since the earthquake there has been over 900 aftershocks, more than i have seen than any other earthquake of similar magnitude.

Yeah i remember playing black ops zombies when one of the players said a tsunami was heading towards japan.one of the players was from japan and he hasn't been back online since, he was on my friends list and i still wonder if he made it.I watched the news for like 2 weeks straight and my heart bled and still does for those people.. so devastating.

Just to throw it out there... there is a bit of a pattern going on i've read about a 188 day cycle, the next date lands on march 22nd this year. 188 +/- 1 day so it can either be the 21st, 22nd, or 23rd. that is next week, just keep a lookout, if this theory holds true... the next megaquake could happen on one of those 3 days.
to go more into depth of this pattern(it maybe nothing or it may very well be something, we won't know for certain until next week)
1st example: Magnitude 8.8 - OFFSHORE BIO-BIO, CHILE 2010 February 27 06:34:14 UTC - this one caused the earth's axis to shift a few inches.
188 days later...
2nd example: Magnitude 7.0 - SOUTH ISLAND OF NEW ZEALAND 2010 September 03 16:35:46 UTC - yes, this one is not really a megaquake but it caused alot of Liquefaction and was a pretty big quake for the area.
189 days later...
3rd example: Magnitude 9.0 - NEAR THE EAST COAST OF HONSHU, JAPAN
2011 March 11 05:46:24 UTC - this EQ also cause the earth's axis to shift a few inches.
188 days later...
4th example: Magnitude 7.3 - FIJI REGION 2011 September 15 19:31:02 UTC - this EQ was not really a "megaquake" in the sense just like the one in new zealand but may very well be part of the pattern.
if the pattern continues, the next date would be the 21st, 22nd or the 23rd. and the pattern that is showing right now(sort of a wave pattern) the next one could be a big one. If you don't really feel like reading you can either just watch this video on the bottom of the post. Using this 188 day cycle, it even goes as far back as the 9.2m EQ that hit Northern Sumatra dec, 26 2004. Do the math yourself if you want. Like i said it maybe nothing or may very well be something, we won't know the answer until those dates come to pass.

Ok i don't think this was the one but.... Magnitude 7.6 - OAXACA, MEXICO 2012 March 20 18:02:48 UTC earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/usc0008m6h.phpStrongest one so far this year, i have a feeling that this is NOT the big one that was expected, maybe just a foreshock so stay safe all those on western coast of S.A. and N.A. |
